The national conference began with a meet and greet as
offices from around the country arrived Friday night. Saturday morning kicked off with an awards
ceremony recognizing managers for all their hard work throughout the last year.
The grand prize awards given to the
rookie manager of the year and top promoting owner of the year included an
extreme office makeover and an all expense paid trip for four to Belize! A 2012 BMW 3 series convertible was also displayed for the entire
conference, the winner of which will be announced later this year!
Directly following the awards ceremony, Anthony Robles, a
motivational guest speaker shared his inspiring story with the conference
attendees. Anthony Robles was an
Arizona State wrestler who won
the 2010-11 NCAA individual
wrestling championship in the 125-pound weight class despite being born with only one leg. He is also the
author of the forthcoming book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How
I Became a Champion. Other key note and seminar speakers throughout the day
included Ed Cunliffe, Mike Rosenberg, and Rebby Sutherland discussing an array
of management topics. Sessions were
broken up by managers, assistant managers, account representatives, and administrators. The ceremony ended in lunch, during which managers
recognized representatives from their offices for their outstanding work through the year.
During dinner managers from around the country made pledges to
Operation Smile, a children's medical charity, which provides cleft pallet
repair surgeries to children worldwide, assists countries in reaching
self-sufficiency with these surgeries, and works to reduce the occurrence of
cleft lips and palates. To date, Operation Smile has provided reconstructive
surgery to over 150,000 children and young adults in more than 60 countries. After
dinner, several more awards were handed out to attendees in the form of
Trophies to the most improved offices and cash bonuses to those hitting their
goals. The night ended with an after party at Center Stage in downtown Atlanta
where a D.J. hosted the event through the night.
