Rocky Top Marketing Group attended the US National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

The national conference began with a meet and greet as offices from around the country arrived Friday night.  Saturday morning kicked off with an awards ceremony recognizing managers for all their hard work throughout the last year.  The grand prize awards given to the rookie manager of the year and top promoting owner of the year included an extreme office makeover and an all expense paid trip for four to Belize!  A 2012 BMW 3 series convertible was also displayed for the entire conference, the winner of which will be announced later this year!

Directly following the awards ceremony, Anthony Robles, a motivational guest speaker shared his inspiring story with the conference attendees. Anthony Robles was an Arizona State wrestler who won the 2010-11 NCAA individual wrestling championship in the 125-pound weight class despite being born with only one leg. He is also the author of the forthcoming book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion. Other key note and seminar speakers throughout the day included Ed Cunliffe, Mike Rosenberg, and Rebby Sutherland discussing an array of management topics.  Sessions were broken up by managers, assistant managers, account representatives, and administrators. The ceremony ended in lunch, during which managers recognized representatives from their offices for their outstanding work through the year.

During dinner managers from around the country made pledges to Operation Smile, a children's medical charity, which provides cleft pallet repair surgeries to children worldwide, assists countries in reaching self-sufficiency with these surgeries, and works to reduce the occurrence of cleft lips and palates. To date, Operation Smile has provided reconstructive surgery to over 150,000 children and young adults in more than 60 countries. After dinner, several more awards were handed out to attendees in the form of Trophies to the most improved offices and cash bonuses to those hitting their goals. The night ended with an after party at Center Stage in downtown Atlanta where a D.J. hosted the event through the night.

Work Hard, Play hard 2012: Annual Organizational Conference!

Rocky Top Marketing Group’s management team attended the Annual Organizational Conference held in New York City.

The conference kicked off with an awards ceremony recognizing managers for their hard work and outstanding dedication in making the last year a huge success. The conference included key note speakers Brandie Parks, Holly Clark, and Wrinardo McKennedy emphasizing an array of effective management techniques as well as the various team building exercises that are used to run successful businesses.

Following the seminars the Friday night event was held at Yankee Stadium where all of the managers and assistant managers attended the game to watch the Yankee’s versus the White Sox. It was exciting for everyone that attended to be sitting so close to the field while enjoying a good game. The following Saturday morning the teams went down to the East Harlem district to a local community center where they volunteered to deliver meals to needy families throughout NYC. The teams passed out more than one hundred meals for the community’s meals on wheels program.

The next event for the evening was a fantastic scavenger hunt through the city hosted by Eve Chan. The teams had to make their way through the entire city on foot, meeting funny characters who would then give clues to the next destination, until the goal was reached. The person voted most valuable player was awarded a digital camera. It was a true team building experience and a great adventure for all that partook. Finally, the group ended the work hard, play hard conference in NYC at a local karaoke bar where they sang their hearts out well into the early morning.

The conference was extremely informative as well as fun. We can’t wait to see what next year’s conference will have in store!
